8 Tips for Setting realistic goals for 2020

Feb 1, 2020

After the excitement of the holiday period has died down, it can be hard staying motivated…especially if your New Year resolutions barely lasted through to Australia Day.

If you are determined to make 2020 your year, then we have news for you – it’s all about setting realistic goals, and not biting off more than you can chew! And because we’re all about helping you achieve your goals, we have here some helpful tips to help you get well and truly on the path to a successful 2020 as a Jeunesse Distributor!

1.    Reflect on what you’ve already achieved.

Before you start thinking about goals for the future, it’s important to give yourself a little pat on the back for what you’ve already achieved. Reflect on what has already gone right, even if you still feel you’re a long way from successfully achieving all of your goals. Remember the old adage that you learn from your mistakes, so even if you have made some (or many!), think about what those mistakes taught you and where those learnings can take you next.

2.    Realise your vision.

What is your dream? Think about what you’d like to accomplish with your business income. It really helps to have something specific in mind to give you that targeted motivation. Rather than a vague goal like, “having enough money to buy the things I want”, think “making $10,000 to get that new bathroom I’ve wanted for years”.

3.    Set your first goal.

Once again, it’s about specifics. How much income are you aiming to earn in one month? How many days a week do you want to work in the business? What is the timeframe to make the monthly income a reality – 3 months, 6 months, 12 months? This helps you quantify exactly how much you need to earn week by week so that you have an achievable target within a realistic timeframe.

4.    Avoid over-reach.

Yes, it’s tempting to write a list of goals that would stretch even the workaholics among us, but you’re more likely to fall short if the goals aren’t realistic for you. Don’t compare yourselves to others; instead think about who you are and the amount of time you can spend on your business, considering your other commitments. Challenging yourself is great but if you set too big a challenge, it’s easier to not achieve it. There is a lot of research out there supporting the idea of small changes being the path to success.

5.    Seek help from your upline.

Our business model is built on teams working together to achieve great things, so if you can sense that you might be struggling to achieve your goals, don’t hesitate to seek help from your upline or other members of the Jeunesse family. You can always learn more, and it’s important to remember that others have probably been in your position at one point and also benefited from asking for help.

6.    Use the Jeunesse tools.

The tools we have created are there to make it easier for you, you don’t have to figure things out on your own! Consult the Quick Start, Getting Started Guidebooks and review the Jmobile™ and Customer Apps.  Know how to log-in to your personalised Jeunesse website – the storefront, your Joffice and Jmobile.  PLUS with Share Jeunesse and Play Jeunesse your access to information is endless.

7.    Be flexible.

Once you’ve set your initial goals for the year, it’s important to re-evaluate regularly to make sure they are still achievable. Not only that, but if you’re reaching out to your upline and the broader business, you may learn new things that help you realize your original goal is no longer what you want to focus on. And that’s ok.

Being opened to change your goals if other things in your life change or if unexpected incidents have prevented you from achieving them is okay. Be kind to yourself and remember that all the biggest success stories have failure somewhere in their past. It’s how we learn and grow.

On the other hand, things might be going better than expected so you can also upgrade your goals. The sky’s the limit!

8.    Be healthy.

Working towards your realistic goals is always going to be easier when you’re taking care of your health. Get moving…..go for a walk, join the gym or run after the kids in the park – it all helps.

And of course if you’re following our PFC program - 1 protein, 1 fat, 1 carb every 3 hours combined with the Jeunesse Zen programme and products - it will teach you habits for leading a healthy lifestyle and keep things simple so you can focus on your business goals.

So, what are you waiting for? Set those goals and start working towards achieving them today!
